Your company is considered an unrated carrier because the FMCSA has not yet issued a safety rating. Safety ratings are issued as a result of a compliance review, so if your company has not been through a review, either because it is new or because it has not received any violations that warrant further investigation, you will not have a safety rating. Many motor carriers do not have FMCSA safety ratings.
