What Is a New Entrant Safety Audit?

1 min. readlast update: 10.17.2023

A new entrant safety audit is a review of a new trucking company’s safety documentation that usually takes place within the first 6 to 12 months of the company’s operation. The goal is to ensure new companies are complying with various FMCSA regulations, but new entrant audits generally aren’t as thorough as a full-on compliance review. New entrant safety audits may be conducted in person but are often completed online. Regardless, it’s important to maintain the required documentation even if you are complying with regulations, as you will need to submit it when the time comes.
