Do I Need Apportioned Plates?

You will need apportioned plates if you drive an apportionable vehicle, which is defined as any vehicle transporting people or property for commercial purposes in two or more jurisdictions under the International Registration Plan (IRP). Your vehicle would also weigh more than 26,000 pounds with two axles or have three or more axles. If your vehicle meets these requirements, you will need to register with the IRP to get your apportioned plates.
