You need a Kentucky KYU license when you are operating a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) equal to or greater than 59,999 pounds and traveling across Kentucky roadways.
All applicable vehicles will be taxed at a rate of $0.0285 per mile traveled. These taxes are done quarterly through Kentucky, at which point you will either pay Kentucky for the taxes owed or they will issue you a refund.
