What Do I Have To Do To Maintain My Oregon Weight Distance Tax Permit?

1 min. readlast update: 10.17.2023

To maintain your Oregon weight tax permit, you must keep records for all applicable vehicles. These records include vehicle trips, origin points and destinations, mileage and distance traveled, load tickets and/or bills of lading, and proof of exempt miles.

If you are enrolled in Oregon’s weight-mile tax program, your permit will roll over into the next calendar year. You will only be expected to update your vehicle list when vehicles are added or removed. These vehicles will be automatically enrolled into the program at the time of registration. You will need to pay your weight-mile tax every month. Once you have an entire year of paying on time taxes with Oregon, you can request to transfer to quarterly tax payments.
