To maintain your Kentucky KYU, you will need to file your taxes quarterly for all vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 59,999 pounds or more.
The KYU is a permanent license that does not require renewal; however, you want to make sure all active vehicles are listed within your KYU number. You should be able to add or remove vehicles as necessary. Your KYU number will also be tied to your USDOT number, so you do not need to have it on display, but you may wish to put it on your truck to avoid any issues.
